Silicone materials are widely used. They are found in household items, baby and children's products, pet products, and medical supplies, all featuring silicone materials. JOYI has extensive experience in the field of silicone products. Our customers have also engaged in various types of printing. Among silicone products, the printing methods include the following 7 types. 1. Screen Printing 2. Pad Printing / Tampo Printing 3. Heat Transfer Printing 4. Water Transfer Printing 5. Laser Engraving 6. In-mold Marking 7. Epoxy / Silicone Drop Logo What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of the above methods? 1. Screen printing, suitable for printing logos, single-color patterns, and simple text, and is applied on flat surfaces. It cannot be used for printing on curved surfaces. Advantages: Low cost, good adhesion (requires the use of silicone ink), suitable for large-scale patterns Disadvantages: The color is not as fine as screen printing. The surface has a slight thickness. There are limitations on the printing position. It is not suitable for printing on curved surfaces. 2. Pad Printing / Tampo Printing, Advantages: can be printed on complex curved surfaces, such as the edge of a bowl, the raised parts of toys, with relatively detailed patterns, suitable for colorful patterns (but the number of colors is limited). Disadvantages: Suitable for small-scale patterns. Large-scale printing has high costs and results in a certain degree of texture and unevenness. 3. Heat Transfer Printing is used for multi-color patterns and complex designs, Advantages: It can print full-color patterns (at photo quality) with vivid colors, exquisite details, and a smooth surface texture. Disadvantages: The cost is high, it requires a smooth surface, and it is not suitable for structures with too many uneven parts. The adhesion is not as good as that of Pad printing or screen printing. There is a certain probability that the printed patterns may fade over time.
4. Water Transfer Printing is applicable to complex shapes and multi-color patterns. It is used less frequently and is mainly applied to gift-type silicone products with high appearance requirements. Advantages: Can cover 3D curved surfaces without being subjected to excessive pressure. Disadvantages: High cost, relatively weak surface strength.
5. Laser Engraving is suitable for permanent marking, serial numbers. Dark silicone will be clearer. suitable for permanent marking, serial numbers. Dark silicone will be clearer, making it ideal for brands that want to apply permanent logos, internal batch numbers, scales, etc., on their products. Advantages: The durability is extremely high, and the pattern will not fade. It does not use ink and is more environmentally friendly. The precision is also higher. Disadvantages: Can only display a single color (light color) and is not suitable for color patterns.
6. In-mold Marking Advantages: The logo is integrally formed with the product itself. The appearance becomes more sophisticated and luxurious, eliminating the need for subsequent printing, thereby saving costs in this aspect of the printing process. Disadvantages: There is a mold-making fee to be paid. This is suitable for brand custom mold products. The pattern cannot be changed at will.
7. Epoxy / Silicone Drop Logo used for the outer logo or accessories, it is mostly used for silicone gifts, small toys. Advantages: Good three-dimensional effect and bright colors. Disadvantages: The cost is relatively high, and it is not suitable for food contact surfaces.
